~Summer of 2013 : Shangrila Skardu ~

Good Morning Girls!
First of all Ramadan Kareem to all of you.
I hope you all are taking care of yourselves.I have been having some holiday blues lately as I returned from such a refreshing and mind relaxing trip to the Northern Areas.Though I was travelling with a baby but ALHAMDULILLAH my baby is very cooperative and easily accomodates himself in any new location:) He slept peacefully all nights at any new hotel or mess we stayed at :)
Ok now I am here to share my trip through photos with you all:)
I ll post a location with some information and rest pictures that I hope you will enjoy.
Me,my hubby,my son,my mom in law,my sister in law & my baby's nanny are the travellers:)
Day 1:
We flew from Islamabad to Skardu & went directly to Shangrila~Heaven on earth as they call it~

My excited baby on the airport

Its an Air Safari where u can see the Indus, the Nanga Parbat, the Himalayas &
also Shangrila~Shangrila Lake or Lower Kachura Lake is a part of the Shangrila resort located at a drive of about 20 minutes from Skardu town

now thats what I call Room with a view

The place we stayed at

Shangrila was named after a book titled "Lost Horizon" by James Hilton. In the novel, the author narrates a tale in which an aeroplane crash landed near a riverbed, in the early 1920s. The surviving passengers came across some Buddhist monks from a nearby temple and sought their help. They were taken to a beautiful lamasery filled with a variety of fruits and flowers. The monks looked quite young, although they claimed to be hundreds of years old. The idyllic place was called Shangri-la, a Tibetan word meaning "Heaven on earth". (Source:Wikipedia)

Boating available as well but at your own risk!

My little poser :)

Night is so calm along the lakeside
Me and my sister in law made it more loveable by having salsa and nachos sitting right there beside it:)
Overall its been a lovely travel & I ll be sharing more of my journeys and stays with you over the coming weeks.
Till then
Stay Blessed & Happy
Thanks for reading
Love,
Areej
